The Ministry of Finance proposed to give a reprieve from the army to IT specialists with secondary vocational education
In Russia, they may begin to grant a deferral from conscription to IT specialists not only with higher, but also with secondary vocational education in the IT field. The Ministry of Finance has sent a corresponding proposal to the government and the Ministry of Defense, the Izvestia newspaper reports.
The Ministry also proposed to expand the list of specialties that relate to IT. As of October 2022, there were 206 items in the list. In particular, it mentioned such specialties as “Computer Science”, “Mathematics”, “Geography”, “Linguistics” and “Economics”.
The ministry explained that they had prepared the initiative after complaints from the largest IT companies about the lack of specialists in the market.
