i-Free cancelled its annual conference

The Mobile Trends Forum (formerly VAS Forum) will not take place this year. i-Free explains the cancellation of the event by adopting an amendment to the law "On Communications", which hit the market of additional mobile services hard.

"After the adoption of amendments to the Law on Communications, which entered into force on May 1, 2014, the market for additional mobile services and mobile content decreased by more than 50%. Such a catastrophic downturn has had an extremely negative impact on the activities of many companies that previously sponsored the conference," i—Free said in an official press release.

Representatives of the company noted that the cancellation in no case means the closure of the conference as such.

"We are sure that this is a temporary break: I think next year will bring positive changes, the situation in the industry will change for the better and the forum will definitely take place," said Vasily Kuntsevich, CEO of i-Free.

The Mobile Trends Forum was supposed to take place at the end of November. Among the main topics, such as "Overview of the main mobile trends" and "Mobile game development" were announced.

By the way, in October 2014, three game development conferences will be held on the territory of the former CCCP. KRI in Moscow, Live Mobile! in Vilnius and DevGAMM in Minsk.
