Casual Connect Europe 2013: interview with King.com

At Casual Connect Europe, we caught the Director of business Development King.com Karina Tietje, who, unfortunately, turned out to be not very verbose and not inclined to share secrets on the development of hits. However, we were still able to learn something from her.

King.com I entered the mobile market only this summer, but your first projects immediately became extremely popular. Were you ready for such a success? To be honest, we were amazed at how quickly our Candy Crush Saga rose in the ratings.

On the other hand, their success was quite expected, since both Candy Crush and Bubble Witch Saga have shown excellent results on our main site for quite a long time King.com and on Facebook. And we were sure that on the new platform they would also attract their audience.

What should developers pay attention to first of all when developing mobile games? Can you recommend something to them?First, you need to take the design very seriously, right down to the icon.

Further, games should have such a structure so that the user can figure it out in a matter of moments and he does not have to read instructions for hours.

What are the main trends of this year? Of course, this is mobile, and within the mobile sphere, of course, tablets, in particular, iPads.

By the way, which genres, in your opinion, are best suited for tablets? If you look at the success of Candy Crush Saga and its game mechanics, you can definitely say that these are games of the match 3 genre.
