The Kingdom of Gaming event, supported by Saudi interests, has been postponed to 2027

A Saudi Arabia-backed gaming industry event, Kingdom of Gaming, has postponed its launch from December to an unspecified time in 2027.
As indicated by ReaderGrev, information on the event's website and social media was discreetly updated last week to state "Coming in 2027," replacing the initial plan of holding the event from December 1 to 3 in Riyadh.
No formal announcement or rationale has been shared publicly. Benjamin Kratsch, who is the chief business development officer at Levelz Gaming Group—a venture builder associated with the Saudi government—came close to confirming the delay when he posted on LinkedIn on October 28 that "Kingdom of Gaming is coming," and indicated that it requires additional time due to the current circumstances.
The event is being organized by Tahaluf, a collaboration between Informa, known for operating the Game Developers Conference, and the Saudi Federation for Cybersecurity, Programming and Drones. It had initially aimed to attract over 20,000 participants, with involvement from 500 studios and 200 investors, and a lineup featuring major players like Ubisoft and Roblox.
ReaderGrev reported that both Informa and Tahaluf declined to comment. However, a trading update on October 27 from Informa cited increasing disturbances in Saudi Arabia as the cause for rescheduling other events, including the Cityscape Global show, now set for January 2027, and the Global Health Exhibition, moved to October 2027. Informa expects no additional earnings from Saudi Arabia this year.
The postponement arises amidst regional turmoil following the U.S. and Israel's conflict with Iran, which has led to an uptick in Houthi assaults on Saudi Arabia in recent times, comprising attacks on Riyadh's King Khalid International Airport.
