The recent WN Conference in Cyprus brought together over 600 participants. Here are the highlights

On September 11-12, the WN Conference Cyprus’25 for game developers and publishers took place in Limassol. Here's a brief overview of the event.

Program

This time, the conference adopted a non-standard format. Traditional lectures were replaced by round tables and workshops on relevant topics for the gaming business. Discussion participants included representatives from Google, Epic Games, Amazon, Miniclip, MY.GAMES, Xsolla, Nexters, AppFollow, and many other companies.

Overall, WN Conference Cyprus’25 was attended by more than 600 people. A total of 315 organizations participated in the event.

Interesting figures:

  • 40% of the companies were local, based in Cyprus, while the others traveled there to meet them;
  • 20% of participants attended the WN Conference for the first time;
  • 51% of attendees were companies involved in game development and publishing.

“Ask the Expert”

For the first time, a special expert zone by the educational project WN Academy—“Ask the Expert”—was available at the conference. Throughout the two days, specialists from various fields answered questions from WN Conference Cyprus’25 guests and reviewed their cases.

Experts included Svyatoslav Torik from Malpa Games, Vasily Tedeev from ZeptoLab, Dmitry Proshkin from MY.GAMES, Nikita Zatsepin from Creally, and Ekaterina Chudinova from VOKI Games.

Showcase

At the developer exhibition, 19 games were showcased. As always, many were playable, and visitors could talk to their creators.

The majority of projects—eight in total—were developed for mobile platforms. Slightly fewer, six, were PC games. Four games were being developed for PlayStation and Xbox consoles, and one game for VR/AR headsets.

Genre breakdown was as follows: the showcase featured six action games, three adventures, two roguelikes, two Point & Click games, among others.

The most popular engine remained Unity, with 58% of the featured games developed on it. Unreal Engine secured the second spot with a 26.3% share.

Indie Pitch

The WN Conference Cyprus’25 also featured a public review of indie developers' games. During this, independent teams showcased their projects to market experts and received valuable feedback.

This time, the indie pitch jury reviewed five games, which simultaneously participated in the showcase.
