The Roblox Developers Conference 2025 has begun, featuring a series of "innovations," among which is an 8.5% increase in revenue for creators

Roblox has shared a range of new developments in AI and creator monetization, noting that developers earned more than $1 billion through its DevEx program over the past year.
During the recent Roblox Developers Conference, several initiatives were highlighted, including an 8.5% increase in the DevEx rate for creators. This adjustment means that converting 100,000 earned Robux will now yield $380 instead of $350.
Moreover, creators will gain access to assets from companies like Mattel, Kodansha, and Lionsgate, integrating brands such as Matchbox, Polly Pocket, and Blair Witch into Roblox's platform through its IP licensing program.
In addition to the Generative 3D creation tools launched earlier this year, Roblox introduced "fully functional 4D objects with AI, alongside advanced language tools like text-to-speech and speech-to-text APIs, real-time voice translation technology, and the integration of MCP into Studio’s Assistant, aimed at enhancing creation speed."
Roblox also presented Roblox Moments, a fresh method for users to explore experiences via short-form videos of thrilling gameplay segments, offering creators an opportunity to engage wider audiences.
The platform allows users to capture, modify, and disseminate gameplay clips, enabling others to instantly join and experience the game. Roblox plans to release Moments APIs soon to assist creators in expanding their reach and boosting engagement.
Roblox stated, "Our announcements build towards a larger objective we outlined at last year’s RDC - ensuring that 10% of gaming content revenue circulates within the Roblox ecosystem, benefiting our community of creators. Our investment spans the entire creator lifecycle from creation to monetization, and these initiatives aim to facilitate the development of engaging content, expand audience reach, enhance earning potential, and establish thriving businesses for Roblox creators."
