Asher McClennahan, head of games at Kickstarter, is scheduled to speak at the Game Republic New Horizons event

Asher McClennahan, the Kickstarter head of games, will be a featured participant at Game Republic New Horizons, a premier gaming industry conference in Northern England set for October. He will join notable entities such as Maverick Games, Hat Trick, Rainy Frog, Transcend Fund, and Double Eleven.
McClennahan is expected to discuss strategic opportunities for game companies on the platform and engage in a panel focusing on funding and investment strategies.
The event will also host prominent industry figures including Harinder Sangha, the COO at Maverick Games, Kimberley Turner, CFO and commercial director at Double Eleven, Elaine Dowman of the Irish Game Makers Association, a senior leader from Barclays' games division, Rainy Frog's Tony Byus, and Harvey Hayman from Hat Trick Lab. Representatives from the venture capital firm Transcend Fund will also be present.
Chris Dring, formerly of Gamesindustry.biz, is also slated to attend alongside a yet-to-be-revealed "very special guest." Additionally, Axel Torvenius from MachineGames will participate in a fireside chat organized by BAFTA.
Jamie Sefton, the managing director of Game Republic, expressed excitement about hosting the event in the UK's rapidly expanding tech center outside of London. He highlighted the significant international presence, including participation from Kickstarter, and emphasized the conference's role as a yearly pivotal gathering for investors, platform holders, publishers, as well as companies in film, TV, creative, and tech industries from across the North and beyond.
