The Devcom Developer Conference will be rebranded as Gamescom Dev

Starting in October 2025, the event known as Devcom Developer Conference will adopt a new name: Gamecom Dev.

This change, unveiled at the Keynote Stage on August 19, 2025, "officially integrates the event into the Gamescom brand and amplifies its significance in the global gaming sector," according to a press statement.

"I'm thrilled about Devcom’s enhanced positioning within Gamescom’s key sub-brands," stated Stephan Reichart, managing director of game events GmbH, which organizes the conference.

"We've had an incredible and sometimes challenging journey with Devcom."

"Early on, it was common to hear, 'So, you're Gamescom’s developer wing?' Hence, we included the subtitle, 'The official game developer conference of Gamescom.' Now, it’s clear—developer-related content takes center stage at Gamescom Dev."

Founded in 2017, the Devcom Developer Conference operates as the official developer conference of Gamescom, managed by game events GmbH, part of the German Games Industry Association (game).

Held annually in Cologne, Germany, this year's main conference occurred from August 17 to August 19, preceding Gamescom’s opening on August 20.

This year's lineup included panels, talks, keynotes, fireside chats, roundtables, and workshops covering various topics such as community management, game design, mental health, among others.

AI stands as a significant theme this year, with a survey conducted before Devcom showing "mixed attitudes" among speakers towards AI technology.

After the main event concludes, from August 20 to August 22, Devcom will maintain a presence with a booth in Gamescom's B2B area.
