BAFTA's Game Republic New Horizons, a major event for Northern England, is set to host Axel Torvenius, creative director of "Indiana Jones and the Great Circle." Torvenius will engage in a BAFTA-led interview handled by Luke Hebblethwaite, the organization’s games head.

Jamie Sefton, managing director at Game Republic, highlighted the conference as a prime showcase of synergy in storytelling, noting its alignment with Game Republic New Horizons' theme of blending film and gaming industries, which will be further explored at the event.

Sefton emphasized the importance of this new event for Northern England. Game Republic, with its regional roots, aims to enhance its events by featuring prominent and distinguished speakers for the Northern games community.

In addition, Sefton teased forthcoming "exciting reveals" in the lead-up to the event.

This inaugural event will be held on October 16, 2025, at Middlesbrough's Riverside Stadium. Spanning from 9 am to 10 pm BST, the conference will offer a variety of activities, including an expo, discussion panels, scheduled meetings, and an after-party that includes karaoke, golf, and bowling.

Early ticket buyers can secure tickets at a reduced price of £99, a saving of £200, if purchased before the end of July. Tickets are available here.

Dr. Jackie Mulligan, co-director of the conference, stated that the event signifies a significant milestone for the Northern gaming sector, focusing not only on prospective opportunities, markets, and technology but also on celebrating ongoing achievements across the North, the UK, and internationally.

"This conference is as much about embracing future prospects as it is about honoring current successes," Mulligan added.
