The next WN Conference will take place this November in Southeast China

Details have been published about the upcoming conference by WN Media Group in China. It will take place on November 21-22 in the city of Xiamen, with key participants including KRAFTON, MY.GAMES, IGDA, AppsFlyer, and the local municipal government.

About the Location

The city hosting the conference is a major logistics hub in Southern China. It is also involved in the development and manufacturing of high-tech components, such as LCD panels and microchips.

However, what played a special role in the organizers' decision to hold the conference in Xiamen is the active creation of gaming software there. For example, the game engine Cocos is developed here. The authors of the popular Game of Sultans also hail from this city.

Additionally, the city has become an important animation hub for the region relatively recently. Since 2008, the city government has been organizing the international Golden Dolphin Award, aimed at supporting original animation works.

And it is precisely within the framework of WN Conference Xiamen’24 that the official award ceremony for this competition will take place. Notably, the best games of the Game Works Competition, linked to the event, will also be honored here. Nearly 400 teams from 26 countries submitted their entries for this competition.

About the Event

The conference will span two days. It will open on November 21 with the Golden Dolphin Award ceremony. After that, attendees will be able to explore the showcase and begin active networking. The lecture program is scheduled for November 22.

About the Program

The presentations will occur in a single track from 10 AM to 6 PM local time (GMT+8). Some of the highlights include:

  • Mike Fischer from KRAFTON will share business basics that "everyone in a game studio should know";
  • Ilya Gutov from Meridian Play will speak on the development of cross-border cooperation in the gaming industry;
  • A roundtable with the participation of the China Indie Game Alliance (CIGA) and the International Game Developers Association (IGDA) will discuss the new era in global game funding through business incubators.

The full schedule of event presentations can be found on the WN Conference Xiamen’24 page on WN Hub.
