The creator of Magic: The Gathering has opened a studio Popularium
Richard Garfield, creator of the iconic collectible card game Magic: The Gathering, has announced the official launch of a new game studio — Popularium. Along with him, the founders included veterans of Xbox, Blizzard and Wizards of the Coast.
The debut game of Popularium will be a hybrid of an autobattler and a royal battle called Chaos Agents. In an interview with VentureBeat, the founders of Popularium said that their game will be available on any device via a browser. It is not yet known when the release of Chaos Agents will take place, but, according to the developers, the studio has a fully playable build ready.
The founders of Popularium do not exclude that blockchain elements may appear in Chaos Agents, but this will depend on the reaction of gamers.
