The next WN Conference will be held in Cyprus. It is scheduled for September 8-9. Details
The conference will be held in Limassol. The program includes two days of networking, a big party and a number of closed sessions.
Parklane, a Luxury Collection Resort & SpaWN Media Group shared the details of the future event.
The company told about the format of its holding, the first speakers, as well as its expectations.
Place
The event will take place at the Parklane Resort & Spa hotel, which is located in the city on Yannos Kranidiotis Street.

The conference will traditionally last two days. Two parallel streams are planned on it. The first is a lecture, the second — with sessions “by invitation”.
More than 20 reports are expected as part of the lecture. Among the speakers are representatives of Wargaming, Play Ducky, TheSoul Publishing, AdQuantum and other companies.

There is less information about the number of “by invitation” performances so far.
It is known that the plans include a question and answer session with a representative of Google Play, a speech by Mundfish, a story about the situation with salaries in the local labor market, as well as a couple of closed round tables.
We have already talked about the latter format before. These are non-public meetings where topical issues are discussed with the support of a moderator.

Stands of event sponsors — Nexters, Yandex Ads, Adjust, Liftoff, Game Distribution, Belka Games and others are expected on the site.

This time the developers’ showcase will be presented in digital format on the WN Hub.
Recall that this is a platform responsible for the online component of WN events (including meetings, chats, video calls).

A party
As always, a networking party will be held within the framework of the conference. It is scheduled for the evening of September 8. It will be held at the Diamante blu restaurant.

Local events
Those who will go to the WN Conference Cyprus’22 can also attend local free events where local people gather.
- On September 7, Cyprus_iT Networking will take place. This is a series of weekly events (held every Wednesday) for “representatives of innovative companies”. Will take place, as always, at Malindi Beach Bar & Restaurant.
- GDCy, another regular series of events for the residents of Limassol, will be held on September 9. Its focus is on the gaming teams operating in Cyprus. The official venue of the event is Gerrard’s Kitchen Bar.

Expectations
“This is not the first event on the island for us. In 2018, we successfully held the WN CEO Summit here, a chamber event for top managers. We are organizing the current event in a format more familiar to us and with the support of the local community. “Like any site, Cyprus has its own unique features, its own peculiarities.
For example, the game dev community in Cyprus meets regularly at local events. And the most frequent question we are being asked now is “Why buy a ticket to WN if we see each other so often?”
And this, of course, has its own logic. But with such a message, you can not engage in education, conferences, or the development of HR platforms at all. They say that people, if they wish, can cross paths and agree somewhere.
I have three counterarguments to this.
Firstly, an official big conference with a program, a schedule, and online functionality is a completely different story, with its own atmosphere that sets up a business mood. It’s one thing to go to a party in the evening, and another thing is to schedule meetings in advance, listen to reports.
Secondly, people from other countries will specially come to Limassol for the WN, those who will not be met in Cyprus on the way to kindergarten. Where else, if not at our conference, will it be possible to communicate with them, exchange news and insights?
Thirdly, the rarity and scale of the event will make it more valuable. Of course, there will also be those who always gather, who try not to miss local meetings. However, I am sure that those participants of the local industry who usually do not come to them will definitely try to get here.”
It is planned that about 500 people will attend the Cyprus WN Conference.
