Casual Connect Tel Aviv: when will Ovivo and the new Buka project be released
As part of the Casual Connect Tel Aviv indie conference, we talked with the Russian IzHard team and found out why Ovivo, which has collected so many prizes, is still not in stores. And we also managed to find out what’s next for Buka. And no, it’s not “Vasily Ivanovich and Petka”.
Ovivo is quite a notable project in the indie space. The title was first mentioned in 2014. At the hackathon, which was held by Microsoft as part of the Imagine Cup, the game won the first prize. Then a year later she won the Imagine Cup itself. But at the same time, the game has not started yet. Daria Chernova, the artist of the project, told why. The main reason is a small team. There are only four people in IzHard. The second reason is that the guys are finalizing the management, there are still shortcomings here. “We are working to ensure that the player does not fall out of their flow state at the same time and at the same time the difficulty of the levels increases smoothly and greatly,” Chernova said. It is planned to make 9-10 levels. And the game itself should be released this year.
One of the most striking projects of Buka publishing house was the game “Vasily Ivanovich and Petka save the Galaxy”. And the remake of the same game did not please. At the Casual Connect Tel Aviv indie conference, we found out that the failure did not force the publisher to abandon the quest genre. The Argentine Epic Llama team announced that Buka will release their Darkestville Castle project in Russia. This is also a quest, and just like the series about the legendary Commander, the game has a kind of dark humor. The project is in the final stages of development and will be released in Argentina early next year. The release date in Russia has not yet been announced.
