Larry Hryb has taken on the role of community development consultant at Commodore International Corporation

Larry Hryb has taken on the role of community development consultant at Commodore International Corporation. He will be offering guidance to the executive team as they aim to sustain and grow the Commodore brand's international community.
Christian Simpson, known as Perifractic, took over the original Commodore brand last year and is now serving as CEO and president of the company, according to a report from PC Gamer.
"Larry was a pioneer in engaging with players directly through blogs, podcasts, social media, and events long before it became a widespread practice in the industry," Simpson stated.
He further commented that recruiting Larry is a logical step in reviving the brand as it continues to maintain contact with its dedicated supporters while also attracting new fans.
Hryb expressed his thoughts by saying, "A company’s best asset is its community. Commodore's fans have been incredibly dedicated for 31 years, making it uniquely situated for community involvement."
He noted that the community didn't wait for changes but instead created something extraordinary. This group encompasses players, hardware enthusiasts, developers, content creators, and publishers, and together they are ready to shape the future.
Prior to this, Hryb served as the senior director of advocacy and community at Unity, having joined them in June 2024, as highlighted by reporting from the industry. He was laid off at the year's start.
Previously, Hryb spent over ten years at Xbox as the senior director of corporate communications and became widely recognized by his Gamertag, Major Nelson.
Hryb began his tenure at Microsoft in 2001 as editor-in-chief of MSN Music. By 2003, he had transitioned to becoming the principal program manager at Xbox. Over the years, he played a key role in the launches of the Xbox 360, Xbox One, Xbox Live, and Kinect, while also hosting Xbox's official podcast.
