The mental health charity Safe in Our World is set to conduct two complimentary awareness sessions aimed at community managers
The charity Safe in Our World, devoted to promoting mental health awareness within the gaming sector, is launching complimentary mental health workshops targeting community managers and developers who are tasked with supporting their community's well-being.
Supported by Humble and run by Mind Fitness, these tailored three-hour workshops are intended to enhance online safety and well-being, broaden understanding of mental health challenges, improve participants' ability to guide others to mental health resources, and deliver strategies for stress management, including online boundary-setting.
Andy Barker from Mind Fitness notes that, "The responsibilities of a Community Manager can seem endless. Without set frameworks and expectations, the demands can be quite overwhelming."
Barker emphasizes the necessity of equipping community managers with the resources to maintain their well-being by providing them with the skills to direct community members to helpful resources and to disconnect after work hours.
Interested individuals can register on Eventbrite for the sessions scheduled on October 9 and November 6, 2025.
Em Aspinall, a communications and events manager, shares their journey: "Starting my mental health awareness training with Mind Fitness and Safe In Our World in 2021 as a new community manager was a pivotal moment. I wholeheartedly recommend this workshop to any community manager or those in player-facing roles, or indeed, anyone involved in gaming."
