Safe in Our World, a charity dedicated to enhancing mental health awareness in the video game sector, is introducing complimentary workshops focused on mental health awareness. These sessions are designed for community managers or developers engaged in community well-being efforts.
Supported by Humble and delivered by Mind Fitness, these tailored three-hour sessions seek to enhance online safety and well-being. The workshops aim to expand understanding of mental health issues, bolster confidence in directing individuals to mental health resources, and equip attendees with strategies for stress management, including setting effective online boundaries.
Andy Barker from Mind Fitness notes, "The responsibilities of Community Managers can be extensive. Without proper frameworks and clear expectations, the demands can become overwhelming."
Barker emphasizes the necessity of empowering community managers with the knowledge to take care of their mental health while offering guidance to players and maintaining a balance when off duty.
Interested individuals can register for one of the two available sessions on Eventbrite, scheduled for October 9 and November 6, 2025.
Em Aspinall, communications and events manager, shares, "Reflecting on my journey with mental health awareness, it all began with this training by Mind Fitness and Safe in Our World in 2021, when I was new to the role of community manager."
Aspinall recommends the workshop to community managers, those in player-facing positions, or anyone involved in the gaming industry.
