Pocket Gems boasts about downloads

The number of game installations by the California-based studio Pocket Gems has surpassed 100 million. The company shared this information with Venturebeat.

According to App Annie, Pocket Gems ranks tenth among iOS publishers. This success comes with just 20 active projects, maintained by a team of 150 employees.

The team was founded in 2009 by former Stanford University student Daniel Terry and his friend Harlan Crystal. At the beginning of 2011, it consisted of only 10 people, but thanks to the success of Tap Zoo and Tap Pet Hotel, the company quickly gained momentum.

Currently, the studio’s flagship products are Paradise Cove: Holiday Adventure and Tap Paradise Cove.

Pocket Gems doesn't invest much in advertising, instead relying on their own cross-promotion network.
