Steve Allison, who formerly held the position of vice president at Epic Games, has been appointed as the chief business officer at Saber Interactive. In his new capacity, Allison is tasked with managing publishing, marketing, and revenue strategies, reporting to CEO Matthew Karch.

Allison expressed his admiration for what Matt, Andrey, and Anton have accomplished at Saber over the years, highlighting the company's ability to produce high-quality games at significantly lower costs than typical industry standards.

He highlighted the upcoming projects, including Space Marine 3, Jurassic Park, Turok, Hellraiser, a forthcoming John Wick game, and other unannounced titles, emphasizing his excitement about joining the team during this period of transformation.

With over three decades in the gaming sector, Allison played a key role in launching the Epic Games Store and its publishing division. In a previous interview, he discussed the potential enhancements for the platform's infrastructure.

Prior to his stint at Epic, Allison was SVP of publishing at Telltale for more than eight years and also held notable roles at Midway Games and Atari. These included chief marketing officer and SVP at Midway and vice president of marketing and business development at Atari.

Karch praised Allison's contributions to the gaming industry, noting his experience in founding companies and developing platforms, along with his personal attributes.

Previously under the ownership of Embracer, Saber Interactive was acquired by them in a $525 million deal in 2020, but was subsequently sold in 2024 for $247 million. This transaction with Beacon Interactive, led by Karch, saw Embracer divest several Saber assets.

Saber retained several studios post-sale, including Nimble Giant, 3D Realms, and others. Additionally, Saber secured investments from Aleph Capital Partners and Crestview Partners to help settle obligations to Embracer.
