Rovio publishes children's books

Rovio has signed an agreement with Egmont children’s publishing house to release books under the Angry Birds brand.

Thus, Angry Birds will be the first mobile application transferred to paper. So far, the books will be published only in English.

The first book will be a humorous collection for children from five years old, which will be released just in time for Christmas. One side of it will be dedicated to birds, the other to pigs. The price of the book will be £4.99 (about $8). Then Rovio plans to start publishing clamshell books and mystery books.

According to David Riley, managing director of the Egmont publishing group, in this way Rovio wants to inspire children to read books. The mission is noble, but questionable.

The advertising campaign of the new books will cover, according to preliminary calculations, almost 40 thousand British schoolchildren.
