"Exmo-AST" will begin selling the IP of books it publishes to game developers
There will be more video games based on books. Soon, developers will be able to purchase licenses for game adaptations of books from the publishing group "Eksmo-AST".
The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt
This was announced by Yevgeny Kapiev, the CEO of "Eksmo", in a conversation with the newspaper "Vedomosti". According to him, the group may start selling licenses as early as fall. He did not specify the terms under which the deals will be made.
Kapiev did not rule out that "Eksmo-AST" might partially fund the development of the games. Currently, the group is considering this possibility but has not made a final decision yet. Recall that in February 2023, it agreed to invest in book adaptations, covering up to 25% of film production costs.
