The Russian game Black Book sold 100 thousand copies in 20 days — faster than Desolate, but slower than Loop Hero
Another project of Russian developers is conquering the world. The adventure card game Black Book has surpassed the mark of 100 thousand copies sold in 20 days since its release. Four times faster than the Desolate survival at the time, but still not as fast as some other domestic titles.
The audience warmly accepted the Black Book. On Steam, the title collected 94% positive reviews, and its average user rating on Metacritic is 8.5.
But if we talk about sales, then although the Black Book performed well, it still did not bypass the sensational Loop Hero at the beginning of the year. It is unknown exactly how long it took the bagel from the Russian studio Four Quarters to reach a circulation of 100 thousand copies sold. But a week after the release, Loop Hero sold 500 thousand copies.
Also, Black Book failed to overtake the Punch Club street boxing simulator from the St. Petersburg studio Lazy Bear Games, released back in 2016. Gamers bought the first 100 thousand copies of the title in two weeks after the start of sales.
But Desolate, which, like the Black Book, was published by HypeTrain Digital, was left behind. It crossed the milestone of 100 thousand copies sold three months after its release. Despite the fact that this game was considered the most successful Russian Steam release in the first half of 2019.
Black Book was released on August 10 under the Perm studio Morteshka. She tells about a young sorceress Vasilisa, who is trying to resurrect her beloved who died under mysterious circumstances. An old “Black Book” can help the girl in this.
