Sid Meyer to release memoirs about "life in the gaming industry"
A book from one of the most famous developers, Sid Meier, will be released in the fall. The creator of the Civilization series will release memoirs, which also promise to become a useful manual on game design.
The book will be called “Memoirs of Sid Meyer!” The author will reveal his biography in it, which is closely connected with video games. He will also share “his view on the history of the gaming industry and the psychology of gamers” and life hacks for game designers.
Now Meyer is 66 years old. He stands at the origins of the creation of the legendary studios MicroProse (by the way, recently resurrected) and Firaxis Games. These companies are known primarily for the Civilization and X-COM franchises.
Meyer’s name is also listed on the covers of the games Colonization, Pirates!, Railroad Tycoon and many others. Note that back in the 90s, a number of publications recognized Meyer as one of the best developers of all time.
His book is already available for pre-order. Its release is scheduled for September 8.
