Google has demoted iGaming sites associated with Clickout Media for "parasitic SEO"
Google has manually restricted the rankings in search results for several publications associated with Clickout Media.
According to Press Gazette, the measures affected sites allegedly using a strategy known as "parasitic SEO."
Clickout Media acquired reputable media assets and gradually altered their content. Instead of specialized journalistic materials, these sites featured casino reviews and promotional publications with links to offshore operators.
Press Gazette reports that this practice could be the reason for Google's manual sanctions. Among the resources subjected to ranking downgrades are Gambling Insider, Esports Insider, Gaming America, CasinoBeats, and Playsense.
Additionally, the article claims that Clickout Media often replaces journalists with AI-based bots or empty profiles. According to the publication, AI is used to generate texts to maintain the appearance of the sites as active information sources.
