The timeline for EQT Group's planned takeover of Keywords Studio has been pushed back

An extension has been granted for the potential takeover of Keywords Studios, delaying the decision date for the prospective buyer's offer.

Last month, it was revealed that a private equity entity within the EQT Group was contemplating a buyout of the game development services company at a share price of £25.50 each. Keywords Studios acknowledged in a regulatory update that it is in progressed negotiations with the interested party.

EQT had a deadline to either put forth a formal bid or declare a decision against making an offer by 5pm on June 15. However, Keywords sought and received permission from the Panel on Takeovers and Mergers to extend this timeline.

The deadline is now moved to 5pm on June 28 for the equity firm to clarify its position on acquiring Keywords Studios. There remains a possibility for another extension, contingent on approval from the Takeover Panel.

Founded 26 years ago as a localization service provider, Keywords Studios has broadened its scope through more than 60 acquisitions since January 2014, venturing into areas like art, audio, game development, PR, marketing, and other related fields.
