Miles Leslie, who serves as the associate creative director, clarified that Treyarch applies AI technology to aid in the creation of art designed by humans, emphasizing that it is meant to streamline processes rather than replace human input.

During a discussion with IGN, Leslie stated that the use of AI serves as an enhancement tool for the team. He emphasized, "While we acknowledge the existence of AI tools, our stance since last year with Black Ops 6 is firm: every element in the game has been crafted with human involvement. We may incorporate generative AI tools for assistance, but they are not integrated into the final game product."

Leslie further noted that if AI elements are found in the game, it was inadvertent. "We have consistently communicated that our AI tools assist rather than replace our skilled team members who finalize and assemble the game content," he explained.

He reiterated that the output gamers experience is entirely crafted and refined by humans. The aim with AI is to enhance efficiency, focusing on streamlining workflows while retaining human creativity.

Reports indicate that by July 2024, Activision Blizzard had sanctioned the usage of generative AI tools such as Midjourney and Stable Diffusion for developing concept art and promotional materials.
