Brett Jones, the artist known for his work on GoldenEye and Perfect Dark, has passed away
The video game industry mourns the loss of Brett Jones, an artist behind acclaimed titles like GoldenEye and Perfect Dark.
David Doak conveyed the sad news via social media, sharing an image from GoldenEye.
"Brett's incredible skill and playful humor significantly influenced GoldenEye and Perfect Dark," Doak remarked in another message.
Jones started at Rare in 1994 and contributed as the lead artist, motion capture manager, animator, and concept artist across a tenure of eight years.
His expertise was pivotal in the development of characters, designs, models, and animations for both GoldenEye and Perfect Dark.
Post-2002, Jones diversified his career by working with several production houses in VFX and animation, including contributing to BBC Cardiff productions like Doctor Who and Being Human.
In the film industry, he played a crucial role in character rigging for movies such as Guardians of the Galaxy and Fantastic Beasts and How To Find Them.
