Comscore: coronavirus behind 31$ surge in console hardware sale in US
Media tracking firm Comscore found that 38 million US households had a console in May 2020. It is up 31% from the 29 million identified in May 2019.
According to Comscore’s 2020 State of Gaming Report, the coronavirus pandemic was one of the biggest drivers behind this growth.
The company also discovered that time spent on gaming sites increased 133% in May 2020 from May of 2017, and the time spent watching gaming video content on PC was up 194%.
