Newzoo: February's top-grossing Android games in China

In the box office gaming Top 10 of the Celestial Empire last February, there were only two projects that were developed by Western companies, Newzoo reports.

These games are: Minecraft, which took the third position in the box office top, and Boom Beach, which is in ninth place. The latter, by the way, is published in China on Android platforms not by Supercell, but by its partner, Kunlun, who is now likely to publish other hits of the Finnish company here.

The box office top itself looks like this:

The first place in the top is occupied by a certain Space Hunter from Yinhan. It is difficult to say what kind of project and what kind of company it is, given Newzoo’s love for self-translation of names from Chinese (unfortunately, analysts do not give the original hieroglyphs).

But the second game from the list is definitely familiar to everyone now. However, it is not called Dota Legend (it feels like Newzoo partially used Google Translate when translating the original name 刀塔傳奇), but Dot Arena (as well as AllStar Heroes, Soul Clash). Many people are familiar with its copy – Heroes Charge.

The data from Nezoo is not only of academic interest for those who are going to enter the Celestial market thanks to the indication of the 10 most popular Android stores in the country. More than 50% of the market coverage is provided by 360 and Myapp markets. Accordingly, if there is a desire to work in the Chinese market, it is most likely best to start with acquaintance with representatives of these markets.
