Gartner: mobile market will earn $7.2 billion in 2013
Gartner analysts have published a very controversial report on the state of the mobile app market. What and how, read in our material.
According to Gartner forecasts, this year the number of total downloads from app stores will reach 102 billion (please note, not in a year, but since the existence of stores). 90% of them will be on the App Store and Google Play. The total revenues of the markets from 2008 to the current year will amount to $ 26 billion.
By the way, a funny incident happened in the Western and domestic press. Many of our colleagues have calculated the figures for the annual, which, of course, is not the case. As a result, we changed the plates for clarity.
However, surprise, it did not become clearer from this.
So, according to Gartner, revenue from mobile paid applications this year will be $4.8 billion. IAP brought in twice as much as last year, but still significantly less than paid applications – $2.4 billion.
Considering that in most countries at least the top ten applications in the box office top are free programs, such a difference surprised us, to put it mildly.
The second big surprise was the decline in the number of downloads predicted by analysts in 2014. No other way there will be a war or a financial crisis. It is difficult to understand what else such a forecast may be related to
It’s also not entirely clear why the paid app market will go into remission in 2017.
In general, there are more questions than answers. For this reason, the figures seem to us, to put it mildly, controversial and taken almost from the ceiling. What do you think?
