In September, Bulkhead's Wardogs outstripped EA Sports FC 27 for top PC revenue as per Newzoo rankings.

Despite being in Early Access, the first-person shooter managed to secure the 11th spot on Newzoo's monthly active user chart, achieving this milestone within three weeks after its debut.

GamesIndustry.biz delved into the Early Access journey experienced by developers of titles like Valheim, Subnautica, and Hades. Read their insights here.

Wardogs, along with Marvel's Wolverine, were two of four new games making it to Newzoo's top 20 chart of games ranked by year-to-date expenditure, coming in at positions 15 and 16 respectively.

Leading the chart were EA Sports FC 27 and NBA 2K27.

On another front, Marvel's Wolverine achieved fourth position on the console revenue chart after dominating the U.S. September sales. See full sales analysis here. This title recorded the highest monthly dollar sales for a Sony release since Helldivers 2, according to Circana.

New contenders, Halloween: The Game and The Blood of the Dawnwalker, also entered the Top 10 lists on both PC and console revenue charts.

Post a substantial update and a pricing discount, Bodycam climbed 20 spots, securing 6th position in PC revenue standings.

DressMaker witnessed a remarkable ascent from its earlier position, reaching No.20. This Cozy Games offering, originally available on itch.io in 2025, launched on September 21 as a comprehensive game version.

Remedy's Control Resonant made its entrance at position 18 in the top 20 games, climbing one spot on console charts.

As the inaugural self-published venture for Remedy, Resonant has broken their previous sales records, crossing the one million units mark in its first release month.

According to Newzoo's market analyst Mert Şahin, September’s metrics indicate a significant release period ahead of the anticipated GTA 6 arrival.

Şahin noted, "New releases rank high in revenue, and competitively priced games like Wardogs prove that lower pricing doesn’t diminish competitive potential. Engagement upticks came mainly from established games freshened by updates, new editions, and pricing strategies."

The analyst suggested, "The busy release schedule underscores the importance of pricing strategies, optimal launch timing, and providing ongoing engagement for existing users, as opposed to solely focusing on high-profile launches."
