Interest in fantasy sports is growing faster than other types of iGaming combined, a study finds
The analytical platform Blask attempted to determine how high the demand for fantasy sports is. To do this, it collected data from June 2025 to July 2026 in 100 countries.
Below are some conclusions.
- Over the year, interest in fantasy sports in the surveyed markets increased by 3%. For comparison, the overall level of interest in all other types of iGaming collectively grew by only 0.7%.
- The share of demand for fantasy sports in the global iGaming market is 6.4%.
- In the UK and the USA, more people are engaged in fantasy sports than in other regions. These two countries account for 40% of the global demand for the genre. At the same time, they also actively engage in other types of iGaming—for instance, in the USA, the share of fantasy sports is only 4.7% of the total demand across all iGaming categories.
- The top 5 countries with the largest share of domestic demand for fantasy sports relative to other types of iGaming are Egypt (90.6%), Sudan (89.1%), Algeria (64.5%), Ireland (63.9%), and Serbia (59.4%).
- In 76 out of 100 surveyed countries, the demand for fantasy sports peaked in August 2025. The calmest month was June 2025. The difference between the indicators during these months was 881%.
