From January to May 2026, the iGaming market in Brazil earned over a billion dollars

The Brazilian iGaming market is rapidly growing. In the first five months of 2026, its revenue reached 5.89 billion reais (1.18 billion dollars), which is an 85.88% increase compared to the same period in 2025.

These figures were reported by the Brazilian tax authority. To illustrate the scale of this growth, the agency noted that the entire iGaming market in Brazil generated 9.95 billion reais (1.99 billion dollars) in 2025. If the current trend continues, Brazil might end the year with a record iGaming revenue of 14 billion reais (2.8 billion dollars).

Significant contributions to the projected annual revenue are expected to come from sports betting, especially during the FIFA World Cup.

The tax authority also highlighted the importance of bringing illegal sports betting and online gambling sites into the legal framework. They believe this could increase the revenue for Brazil's treasury.
