According to Newzoo charts, "Tomodachi Life: Living the Dream" is the highest-grossing new release of 2026 so far by revenue

According to Newzoo, Nintendo's "Tomodachi Life: Living the Dream" has emerged as the highest-grossing new game release of 2026 thus far. It also topped the charts as the leading revenue-generating console game in April.
The success of "Living the Dream" is attributed by Newzoo to the expansive user base of Nintendo. A report from Circana noted that the game significantly boosted U.S. consumer expenditure on new physical game software by 44%.
Following its launch on April 17, Capcom's "Pragmata" secured a position in the Top 10 for both console and PC revenues. Its performance was largely driven by the game's unique gameplay mechanics.
The game "Windrose" made a strong entrance, ranking third in PC game revenues behind "Fortnite" and "Counter-Strike 2 & Go" after selling a million copies within its first six days.
"NBA 2K26" experienced enhanced engagement on consoles due to its availability on Xbox Game Pass, while "Diablo 4" saw an 11-place leap on Newzoo's PC revenue list following updates and the release of its "Lord of the Hatred" expansion.
The title "Mouse: P.I. For Hire" debuted at 18th place on the PC and 19th on the console charts, while "Pokemon Pokopia" maintained its spot in the Top 20 for console revenues since March.
Despite new entrants on the charts, Newzoo noted the challenge games face in supplanting established live-service ecosystems once play habits and community structures are entrenched.
Newzoo remarked that continued performance relies heavily on supportive systems, ease of ecosystem access, or distinct gameplay elements to maintain player interest over time.
