As part of its research, Buzzoola surveyed a total of 2,500 Russian residents over the age of 18. Here are a few of its findings:

  • One-third of respondents clarified that they don't just occasionally spend time on online games but play regularly.
  • Men are more likely than women to share this interest. For instance, 34% of the men surveyed play online games regularly, compared to only 18% of the women. The percentage of those who play occasionally is 22% among men and again 18% among women.
  • However, if we look exclusively at young people aged 18-24, the situation is reversed. In this group, 28% of women and 31% of men play regularly.
  • One-third of respondents are willing to tolerate in-game ads in free-to-play games. Fifteen percent have no objection if ads are infrequent, and 13% would even be relatively pleased if viewing ads resulted in bonuses.
  • Meanwhile, 25% of respondents, mostly men, would prefer to pay to avoid seeing ads in games.
