The volume of the unregulated online gambling market has closely approached 6 trillion dollars — study

In 2025, unlicensed online gambling generated $5.9 trillion worldwide, which is a 4% increase compared to 2024. These figures were shared by analysts at Gaming Compliance International (GCI).

According to GCI estimates, this enormous sum makes the unregulated online gambling market the "third-largest economy in the world," following the United States and China. Additionally, analysts have identified it as the largest form of cybercrime in existence.

GCI highlighted that licensed online gambling generates significantly less revenue. Regulated projects account for only 22% of the total online gambling market, while unregulated projects are responsible for 78%.
