Sensor Tower announced the acquisition of AppMagic
The analytics company Sensor Tower has suddenly acquired another competing gaming analytics service. AppMagic has now become part of the company.
The purchase amount and full terms of the deal have not been disclosed.
According to Sensor Tower CEO Oliver Yeh, the company plans to "combine the teams, technology, and products" of both parties. Following this, AppMagic will become one of the tools for small and medium-sized businesses in the Sensor Tower portfolio.
AppMagic believes that the collaboration with Sensor Tower will enhance their analytics service.
"Joining Sensor Tower elevates the opportunities for AppMagic users to a new level. Our clients will gain access to deeper data and a more comprehensive understanding of the market than ever before. For anyone looking to understand where the market is heading and how to grow within it, this is an important step forward," stated AppMagic founder and CEO Maksim Samorukov.
This isn't the first acquisition of its kind for Sensor Tower. In recent years, the company has been actively acquiring competitors. For example, in the spring of 2024, it became the owner of data.ai, specializing in mobile analytics, and a year later acquired the analytics service for console and PC games, VG Insights. Later, the Playliner analytics service also became part of Sensor Tower.
AppMagic entered the market in 2016 and initially operated under the name DataMagic. For a long time, the service focused solely on mobile game and app analytics, but last year they expanded their functionality to include data on Steam games.
