Jagex plans to broaden the reach of RuneScape: Dragonwilds into the Asia-Pacific market

Jagex, the company behind RuneScape, revealed plans to release RuneScape: Dragonwilds across the Asia-Pacific region later in the year. This marks their largest expansion in international markets so far, encompassing localization for Simplified Chinese, Japanese, and Korean.
Jagex CEO Jon Bellamy commented on the importance of Asia-Pacific in the gaming industry, acknowledging the enthusiastic and selective nature of its gaming communities. "Launching in their native languages underscores our dedication to transforming RuneScape into a truly worldwide brand, primed for longevity," Bellamy stated.
Bellamy elaborated on Jagex's global ambitions, emphasizing the strategic expansion into the Asia-Pacific as a critical milestone. He mentioned that the survival crafting genre is well-received in these areas, and RuneScape: Dragonwilds integrates intricate skilling, cooperative elements, and complex world-building, catering to regional players.
RuneScape: Dragonwilds was first made available via early access on Steam in April 2025. By September, it had extended its reach to Latin America with the addition of Portuguese and Spanish language options.
Earlier in the year, during an interview with Jagex SVP James Dobrowski, he shared insights about the company's expectations for 2026, foreseeing it as their most extensive, ambitious, and demanding year yet.
Dobrowski detailed the strategic reflections undertaken early last year, with extensive evaluations and strategic revisions to ensure alignment between company objectives and individual project goals.
