Analytics: Marathon sales slightly exceeded one million copies
The new release from Bungie did not become a major hit, claims the analytics firm Alinea Analytics.

According to analysts' estimates, Marathon sold a total of 1.2 million copies in under three weeks from its release. The game sold most actively on Steam, where 800,000 copies were sold on the Valve platform alone. Another 217,000 copies were sold on PlayStation 5, while 133,000 copies were sold on Xbox Series.
The total revenue for Marathon was estimated by analysts to be $55 million.
Alinea Analytics noted that Marathon lagged behind another recent shooter, ARC Raiders, in sales pace. According to official statistics, ARC Raiders reached 4 million copies sold just a week and a half after its launch, and it's hard to say how long it will take Marathon to reach that milestone.
The data from Alinea Analytics was confirmed by Forbes journalist Paul Tassi. He contacted sources at Bungie, who stated that the reported figures are close to reality. However, they did not disclose official figures.
