The figures were shared by the analytical company Alinea Analytics. They noted that, in their statistics, they considered not only purely cooperative projects but also games that include a cooperative mode in principle.
According to the analysts' observations, the surge in interest in cooperative games began on Steam during the COVID-19 pandemic. There was a slight decline at the end of 2022 and the beginning of 2023, but then the hype returned and has been almost continuously growing since. How long it will last remains to be seen.
Additionally, analysts listed some of the highest-grossing Steam games with cooperative support released in 2025:
- Monster Hunter Wilds — $376 million;
- ARC Raiders — $206 million;
- Schedule I — $153 million;
- R.E.P.O. — $150 million;
- Borderlands 4 — $128 million;
- Split Fiction — $118 million;
- Elden Ring Nightreign — $116 million.
