StarRupture
StarRupture is a sci-fi survival game set on a harsh planet. Gamers take on the role of prisoners sent to extract resources for corporations while also defending themselves against monsters.
The game was developed by the Polish team Creepy Jar, which previously gained fame with another survival game, Green Hell. They released StarRupture in early access on Steam on January 6, 2026.
As noted by Alinea Analytics, by January 21, StarRupture had sold over 700,000 copies. This makes it more successful than any other new release in 2026 so far. Moreover, 24% of StarRupture owners also purchased the support pack, which is a significant portion.
The analysts did not disclose a full breakdown of StarRupture sales by country, but they noted that the game is popular in its home country. According to Alinea Analytics’ calculations, Poland became the fourth largest market for the title, with a 6% share, though it typically ranks lower.
The audience overall warmly received StarRupture. Currently, the game has 81% positive reviews on Steam, and its peak online presence reaches 42,800 players.
Notably, investors in Creepy Jar also reacted enthusiastically to StarRupture's debut. Since the game's release, the company’s stock price has increased by 50% and is now trading at 632 zlotys ($176.3) per share.
The exact date for the full release of StarRupture is still unknown. It is expected to remain in early access for about a year.
