The Steam version of Escape from Tarkov was purchased 796,000 times in ten days — analytics

Predictably, the largest market for Escape from Tarkov has become Russia. According to analysts, Russian gamers accounted for 19% of the extraction shooter's initial sales on Steam. China takes the second place with 16%, followed by Turkey (11%), the USA (10%), and Japan (5%).
Analysts did not disclose sales figures for Escape from Tarkov on the game's own website, but they shared other intriguing statistics:
- As of today, Escape from Tarkov has earned $28.9 million in Steam;
- 15.5% of all owners of the Steam version of Escape from Tarkov played ARC Raiders;
- The average playtime for Escape from Tarkov on Steam is 27.3 hours. This isn't the highest, but also not the lowest. For example, ARC Raiders has 39.9 hours, while the meme game Escape from Duckov has 24.8 hours.
The developers at Battlestate Games have not yet announced the number of copies sold for Escape from Tarkov. Therefore, it is unknown how accurate the VG Insights data is.
Escape from Tarkov was officially released on November 15, 2025, after eight years of beta testing—precisely when it became available on Steam. Due to technical issues, the game received a cold reception, and currently has only 39% positive reviews.
