Analytics: 55% of the most popular games on Steam are priced at $20 or less
This conclusion was reached by the analytical company Ampere Analysis. In their study, they examined the price tags of 150 games with the highest average monthly active user base* (MAU) on Steam from January 2024 to June 2025.

The analysts observed that Steam users are generally well interested in mid-priced games — 18% of the top 150 games by MAU are priced between $30 and $50. However, they are considerably less active in playing high-priced games — only 3% of the titles in the ranking have a price tag exceeding $50.
The average MAU on Steam for some games from the top during the above-mentioned period, according to Ampere Analysis:
- R.E.P.O — 7 million people;
- Peak — 5.2 million people;
- Schedule I — 4.9 million people;
- Helldiver 2 — 4.86 million people;
- GTA V — 4.2 million people;
- Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Siege — 3.7 million people;
- Elden Ring Nightreign — 3.37 million people;
- Monster Hunter Wilds — 3.56 million people;
- Rust — 3.3 million people;
- Lethal Company — 2.94 million people.
*Counter-Strike 2 has been excluded from the statistics.
