Recently released statistics highlight the leading third-party titles that launched with Nintendo's Switch 2 on June 5, with 'Deltarune' and 'Fortnite' taking prominent positions.

In an analysis shared with GamesIndustry.biz, Max Otten, product manager at Newzoo, utilized their Game Performance Monitor to assess digital sales data of Switch 2's third-party launch titles on the US eShop throughout June 2025. The report does not include physical sales figures.

The leading third-party titles for Switch 2 in terms of units sold during June include:

  1. Deltarune
  2. Hogwarts Legacy
  3. Fast Fusion
  4. Cyberpunk 2077
  5. Split Fiction
  6. Rune Factory: Guardians of Azuma
  7. Bravely Default Flying Fairy HD Remaster
  8. Street Fighter 6
  9. Hitman World of Assassination
  10. Yakuza 0
  11. Sid Meier's Civilization 7
  12. Kunitsu-Gami: Path of the Goddess
  13. Survival Kids
  14. Sonic X Shadow Generations

At the forefront, 'Deltarune' by Toby Fox achieved the highest number of sales, while 'Hogwarts Legacy' followed in second place. Although the latter was initially available on the original Switch, its Switch 2 version debuted on the same day, offering a $10 upgrade for existing owners. It’s important to note that this upgrade was not included in the unit sales, but it was factored into the revenue calculation for 'Hogwarts Legacy'.

At the lower end of sales are 'Sonic X Shadow Generations' and 'Survival Kids', with the latter marking Unity's first game development endeavor in two decades. Released at $49.99, 'Survival Kids' stands among the few Switch 2 games that incorporate GameShare, enabling multi-console play with just a single purchase.

'Cyberpunk 2077' secured a top-five position in sales, albeit trailing behind the Switch 2-exclusive racing title, 'Fast Fusion'. Surprising some, 'Fast Fusion' outpaced 'Cyberpunk 2077' in unit volumes, though not in revenue.

Here is the ranking of Switch 2 third-party launch games by total revenue on the US eShop:

  1. Fortnite
  2. Deltarune
  3. Cyberpunk 2077
  4. Hogwarts Legacy
  5. Split Fiction
  6. Rune Factory: Guardians of Azuma
  7. Street Fighter 6
  8. Fast Fusion
  9. Bravely Default Flying Fairy HD Remaster
  10. Sid Meier's Civilization 7
  11. Hitman World of Assassination
  12. Yakuza 0
  13. Kunitsu-Gami: Path of the Goddess
  14. Survival Kids
  15. Sonic X Shadow Generations

Despite not appearing on the units sold list due to its free-to-play model, 'Fortnite' achieved the highest revenue. Meanwhile, 'Deltarune' maintained strong performance in both categories.

Newzoo's study of Switch 2 third-party titles highlighted that technical enhancements can boost engagement among returning players. While first-party Nintendo titles continue to dominate, the Switch 2 has been successful in attracting a diverse audience with a preference for non-traditional titles.

According to Newzoo, "Early indications suggest a wider landscape for third-party developers than seen on earlier Nintendo platforms, especially for well-optimized games that broaden the genres."
