Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 returns to the Top 10 for revenue just a month post-launch | Newzoo rankings
"Clair Obscur: Expedition 33" has climbed back into the Top 10 of Newzoo's revenue rankings for May after starting at 13th spot in April. Newzoo described this shift as rare for a premium game in its post-launch month, highlighting it as an example of the impact of quality and word-of-mouth buzz.
"Fantasy Life i: The Girl Who Steals Time" made its debut at 20th place in the revenue rankings, having sold over a million copies across various platforms. Impressively, 500,000 of these sales occurred within just three days, and the game entered the Nintendo Switch's individual revenue chart at number three.
"Doom: The Dark Ages" entered the overall chart at ninth, with Newzoo attributing much of its revenue to Xbox Game Pass, though the bulk of its full sales were from PlayStation and Steam, with more than 95% coming from these platforms. However, Xbox accounted for 72% of users engaging monthly according to Newzoo’s engagement metrics.
Meanwhile, "Grand Theft Auto 5" experienced a user surge following the release of the second trailer for "GTA 6," which set viewership records with 475 million views in just 24 hours.
In an interesting development, "Star Wars Battlefront 2" from 2017 noticed a marked boost in player involvement recently. This increase was partly due to a community-driven revival, as reported by Newzoo. A special discount for Star Wars Day attracted new players, yet 86% of those engaging were returning enthusiasts.
