Newzoo: Assassin's Creed Shadows became the second highest-grossing game in March, surpassing Monster Hunter Wilds and Split Fiction
The analytics company Newzoo has named the top-grossing and most popular games on PC and consoles for March 2025.

Note: Revenue information is based on data from six key markets: the USA, UK, Germany, Italy, Spain, and France. Newzoo’s MAU rankings are compiled from indicators across 37 markets, excluding China and India, and do not account for titles on Nintendo Switch.
- Once again, the best-selling game of the month was Fortnite. It also topped the overall MAU chart across all platforms and the MAU charts specifically for PlayStation and Xbox.
- Counter-Strike 2 retained the top spot on the MAU chart for PC. However, in the overall ranking, it only secured the tenth position.
- Assassin’s Creed Shadows debuted in the second spot on the list of highest-grossing games for March. As noted by Newzoo, the revenue share from Steam for this installment of the franchise was higher than many other "Assassins." Understandably, since Assassin’s Creed Shadows was released on Steam simultaneously with other platforms. The previous series entry that also debuted on Steam was Assassin’s Creed Odyssey.
- MLB The Show 25 debuted in fourth place in the revenue chart, Split Fiction at sixth, and WWE 2K25 at ninth. Slightly lower in the ranking were Schedule I (12th place) and inZOI (16th place).
- The indie horror R.E.P.O significantly improved positions across the charts compared to February. In the revenue ranking, it jumped 154 spots to eventually take 11th place. In the overall MAU chart, the title moved from 336th place to 12th. In the MAU chart for PC only, it climbed from 123rd to third.
- Meanwhile, Monster Hunter Wilds saw a slight decline in the revenue chart. While in February it managed to earn enough in just one day to secure the third place, in March it settled into fifth position.
