Assassin's Creed Shadows secures the No. 2 spot on March 2025 revenue rankings | Newzoo Charts
Assassin's Creed Shadows achieved second place in Newzoo's revenue rankings for March. The game was released in the latter half of the month and contributed significantly to Ubisoft's revenue, particularly through sales on Steam. This marks Ubisoft's first day-one launch on the platform since 2019. Previously, Ubisoft had halted distributions on Steam citing its business model as incompatible with modern game distribution practices. However, they returned in 2022 by releasing Assassin's Creed Valhalla.
Alongside Assassin's Creed Shadows, March saw five other new additions to the Top 10 revenue list, including MLB The Show 25 at fourth, Split Fiction at sixth, and WWE 2K25 ranking ninth.
Semiwork Studios' R.E.P.O., an online co-op game, dramatically climbed from 165th to 11th place after its early access debut on February 26. Among new entries, Krafton's Inzoi exceeded one million sales swiftly in the first week following its early access launch on March 28, making it into the Top 20.
In Newzoo's player engagement rankings, R.E.P.O. was a significant presence for March. Meanwhile, Assassin's Creed Shadows and Atomfall achieved placements on Xbox's individual charts at 16th and 18th, respectively.
