Assassin's Creed Shadows lands in the second spot on March 2025 revenue charts | Newzoo Charts
In March, Assassin's Creed Shadows made a notable entrance, achieving the second spot on Newzoo's overall revenue ranking following its recent release. The game, launched during the latter part of the month, marked Ubisoft's return to debuting a title on Steam since 2019. This platform contributed significantly to the game’s financial performance compared to past franchise entries.
Ubisoft's prior decision to move away from Steam stemmed from what the company described as an "unrealistic" business model, which did not align with modern distribution practices. Nonetheless, the publisher reengaged with Steam in 2022 through the release of Assassin's Creed Valhalla.
In March, several new entrants shook up the Top 10 revenue charts, such as MLB The Show 25 at fourth place, Split Fiction at sixth, and WWE 2K25 at ninth.

Semiwork Studios’ R.E.P.O. displayed an impressive rise, climbing from the 165th to the 11th spot soon after its early access launch on February 26. The game's popularity was driven by its affordable price and favorable reviews, showcasing its rapid climb in player engagement charts—from 336th to 12th.
Newzoo remarks highlighted its unique gameplay loop and strong genre innovation, with R.E.P.O. amassing over 10 million monthly active users by March, underscoring its quality and appeal.
Similarly, Schedule 1, another title with affordable pricing and engaging gameplay, reached the 12th position. Meanwhile, Krafton's Inzoi achieved over one million sales in the first week of its early access debut on March 28, joining the Top 20 new releases.
In player engagement, Assassin's Creed Shadows and Atomfall stood out on Xbox's chart, ranking 16th and 18th respectively.
