According to Newzoo Charts, Marvel Rivals has held its position as the leading PC engagement title for January 2025 | Newzoo Charts
Following its launch on December 6, 2024, Marvel Rivals ascended to the Top Five in Newzoo's overall revenue ranking for January 2025, advancing one position.
The hero shooter by NetEase remained the leader in player engagement on PC and climbed from sixth to second place in terms of platform revenue.
Even with confirmed workforce reductions at a U.S. support studio, the game also achieved a Top Five position for PlayStation revenue this week.
In the category of PC revenue, two new games emerged: Marvel's Spider-Man 2 and Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth.
Spider-Man 2, which was released on January 30, narrowly broke into the Top 20 despite having only been available for two days before the report cut-off.
Meanwhile, Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth launched on January 23, securing the 10th spot and moving from 138th place in December 2024 to 20th in the overall revenue ranking.
On the Switch revenue list, Hello Kitty Island Adventure entered at number six, while Donkey Kong Country Returns HD debuted at number eight. It Takes Two escalated ten places to claim 15th position in January.
Player engagement held steady across all gaming platforms with minor changes, yet PlayStation’s rankings saw significant shifts.
Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League jumped to 16th from 223rd place after Rocksteady announced the end of game support following Episode 8, released on January 14.
Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit Remastered soared to 13th from 470th spot, benefiting from its availability as a free game for PS Plus members all January.
