Riot Games strengthens its entertainment division by hiring former Netflix, HBO Max, and Paramount execs
Riot Games continues its expansion into the film and music industry. The League of Legends maker has hired former executives from top entertainment companies to help adapt its gaming IPs to other mediums.

Riot Games Entertainment president Shauna Spenley announced that the new hires will contribute to developing the company’s film, television, and other content based on its franchises, Deadline reported on May 5.
- Kristin Moss will lead the entertainment division’s marketing strategies and creative campaigns. Prior to joining Riot, she was VP of marketing at HBO Max, where she led campaigns for TV projects like Peacemaker and The Friends Reunion.
- Maria Egan, who previously worked at Splice and Pulse Music Group, will be in charge of all music content for Riot’s games, TV series, and films.
- Emily Briggs will take on the role of Riot’s global head of entertainment finance and strategy, being responsible for monetization across the entertainment division. She previously spent 12 years at Netflix overseeing strategic planning and acquisitions.
- Ken Basin, who previously served as executive VP and head of business affairs at Paramount Television Studios, will be in charge of business affairs, operations, and production for Riot’s films and TV series.
Last year, Riot Games broke into the TV industry with its acclaimed animated series Arcane. With new talents joining the team, the company will try to gain its foothold in the entertainment world by developing its IPs outside just video games.
