Xbox Research has broadened its scope to involve developers collaboratively and link with product teams, aiming to provide data insights to enhance its tools and services. The primary purpose of this initiative is to gather data capable of "solving challenges and improving the experiences of partners across various fields involved in game production," as noted in a blog post.

For over 20 years, Microsoft's gaming division has been involved in research to refine gaming experiences based on player input.

The approach for collecting data will replicate methods previously applied to player-focused studies. Developers from all platforms, not just those releasing games on Xbox, will be invited to contribute.

"Our goal is to hear from everyone involved in game development or supporting game studios. By making processes easier for you, we can enhance the gaming experience," stated principal user researcher Deborah Hendersen.

"Whether you are developing games or not on Xbox, we are interested in your insights. If you prefer our competitor's products, your perspective would be valuable to us."
