Sensor Tower: In 2024, the IAP revenue of the global mobile gaming market will grow to $78 billion

The decline in the mobile gaming market is coming to an end, predicts the analytics company Sensor Tower. According to their calculations, this year gamers worldwide will spend $78 billion on in-app purchases (IAP) in mobile games — 1.6% more than in 2023.

Analysts also suggest that in 2026, IAP revenue in the market will surpass $90 billion for the first time, and by 2028, it will exceed $100 billion.

IAP Revenue in the Mobile Gaming Market from 2019-28

The largest regions in terms of IAP revenue will continue to be the United States, China, Japan, and South Korea. According to Sensor Tower's forecast, by 2028, people in the U.S. will spend $33.5 billion on IAP in mobile games, while in China, it will be about $20 billion just in the App Store.
